OMRON has released a new version of their D6T Thermal IR sensor that enables a more defined image of what’s being detected thanks to its 32×32 pixel array.
The OMRON D6T thermal IR sensor has a wide field of view (90×90 degrees) allowing the user to view a much larger space to determine human occupancy or abnormal heat signatures. The sensor is capable of detecting objects up to 200 degrees C.
Because the D6T is tuned to recognize the heat signature of a human wavelength, applications can include stationary or moving human presence detection, power conservation where devices power down when no human presence is detected, and security detection applications.
D6T series sensors can detect the slightest temperature changes that can be used in variety of applications including energy-efficient home appliances and security systems. The sensors can also be used in the application fields of HEMS (Home Energy Management System) and BEMS (Building Energy Management System).
